How NAAMA NextGen Works
A guide for physicians, NAAMA chapters, and supporters on how NAAMA NextGen is structured and how to work with us.
NAAMA NextGen is the student branch of the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA). We operate independently with our own leadership structure, programming, and resources. Our chapters are student-run organizations at individual universities across the country. Our members are undergraduate students, medical and health professions students, and students in gap years between undergrad and graduate programs. This page explains how NAAMA NextGen is structured and how physicians and NAAMA chapters can engage with us.
Structure
NAAMA NextGen Chapters
Chapters are student-run organizations at individual universities. Students at a given school start and lead their own chapters — they are not established or managed by NAAMA state or regional chapters. All chapters fall under the leadership of the NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board, and any use of the NAAMA NextGen name, image, or brand is coordinated through us.
Starting a Chapter

Programming
Chapters have freedom to plan programming that fits their community — mentorship events, social gatherings, professional development, and more. All chapter activities should align with NAAMA NextGen's mission and all-inclusive nature.
Starting a Chapter
Chapters are chartered on the authority of the NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board. Chapter questions and coordination go through Chapters@naamanextgen.org
Leadership
NAAMA NextGen National
NAAMA NextGen is led by an entirely student-run NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board, which manages day-to-day operations including programming, chapter support, partnerships, and member resources. The NAAMA NextGen National Board of Directors provides governance oversight. Physicians and professionals may serve on the NAAMA NextGen National Advisory Committee in a mentorship capacity, but do not hold executive authority or voting power.
The NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board sets organizational direction, manages the budget, and oversees all chapter activity.
All use of the NAAMA NextGen name, communications with our members, and events under our brand are coordinated through the NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board.
Member data is accessed only by the NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board and relevant NAAMA NextGen chapter student leadership.
For Physicians & NAAMA Chapters
Working With NAAMA NextGen
We welcome and appreciate support from physicians and NAAMA chapters. In the past, this has looked like fundraising, co-hosting events, and contributing to student programming — and we'd love to explore more ways to collaborate.
To make sure collaborations are effective and serve students well, we do ask that any event, use of the NAAMA NextGen name, or outreach involving our members be coordinated through the NAAMA NextGen National Executive Board. This helps us ensure events are well-promoted, accessible, and aligned with what our members need.
